# How do I update Stellar? (PC and Mac)

Stellar will automatically attempt to update when StellarAIO is open. If there's any issues updating Stellar to the latest version you can download manually by visiting the [#change-log](https://discord.com/channels/1417577339671285984/1417581765295472830) channel

If you cant see the channel above then you don't have the permissions to view it. You'll need to bind your Discord account to your Stellar key if you own it. If you don't own Stellar and are renting, you'll have to get latest download links from the person you're renting Stellar from

If you're on Mac, make sure you download the correct option. MacOS Intel or MacOS Silicon. You can check which one you can download in your Mac settings.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://guides.stellaraio.com/stellar/installation-uninstallation/how-do-i-update-stellar-pc-and-mac.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
